There are many nice and good restaurants in the city of Valencia, but there are quite a few with only an indoor space and no terrace. We have made a selection of places where you can both eat well and sit outside, often in a beautiful location or with a great view. Here is a selection in no particular order:
1. Atic Palau Alameda
Literally and figuratively, a TOP location. In this beautiful building near Alameda next to the Turia, you can enjoy good food and drink on the roof. Spacious and, of course, fantastic to see a sunset over the city. At special fiestas (including Fallas) you have a top view of the fireworks here. Highly recommended.
2. Mercabanyal
Since 2019, the lovely fishing district Cabanyal has been enriched with a new gastro market: Mercabanyal. Close to the beach, you will find a nice collection of different stalls for drinks and food, where you can sit in a pleasant atmosphere. This way everyone can eat what he or she wants, but all happy together.
3. Le Favole
Le Favole has been an absolute favourite for many years with its atmospheric restaurant near the Mercado Central. On the quiet square, they also have a spacious terrace outside. They service delicious Italian food. You can also expect good service and be assured that you’ll always feel welcome with owner Frank and his team. If you want Italian food for a change.
4. Duna Puerto
At Duna Puerto, you can see the port of Valencia from a different angle. Both inside and outside a beautiful location with a view of Valencia’s characteristic buildings: Veles e Vents, the former starting tower of America’s Cup. Beautiful location with delicious food, we can heartily recommend the fish in the salt!
5. La Flaca de Ruzafa
In the bustling Ruzafa district, there are plenty of nice terraces for a drink or snack. La Flaca‘s terrace sits on a corner, giving you a nice spot for people-watching. Although the terrace is not super large (reservations recommended) it is definitely worth a visit for its delicious and varied tapas.
6. Casel-la
In the middle of the bustling Canovas neighborhood with Valencia’s tastiest dining street, Calle Conde Altea, you will find the nice restaurant Casel-la. On the corner near Maison Lupin, you can have an aperitif or just end the evening, and eat à la carte at Casel-la, or you can opt for a tasty and affordable menu.
7. Lateral
Right in Valencia’s centre, you will find the Lateral Patriarca restaurant with a spacious terrace on the corner of one of the most beautiful squares in Valencia. It has a luxurious look but is delicious food and a break from the hustle and bustle. If the terrace is full, you can try Tago Mago (from the Saona group) on the other corner.
8. Infanta
On another lovely square, this time in the El Carmen district in the centre, you will find the café-restaurant Infanta on Plaza Tossal. Always a pleasant buzz. The restaurant inside looks like a brown pub, but outside, there is enough space and tables for a snack, tapas, and a drink.
9. La Pitusa
Less than 400 meters from Infanta towards the Turia, you will find La Pitusa. This typical Spanish restaurant also has a spacious terrace located on a reasonably quiet square. Sit in the sun or the shade and enjoy tasty tapas or a nice ‘menu del dia’ with a refreshing drink. Relax and enjoy!
10. Marina Beach Club
This is probably the best-known beach club in Valencia, but we cannot conclude this list without this most famous beach club in Valencia: the Marina Beach Club. This Ibiza-style club/restaurant offers delicious food both indoors and outdoors and fine tables with a view of the swimming pool, beach and sea. What do you need more?
